Stopped skipping scalp treatments after a salon visit in Austin

I used to think scalp treatments were just a way to upsell clients for extra cash. Then I visited a small salon in Austin last month and the stylist there spent 15 minutes talking about how she fixed a client's dandruff with a basic tea tree scrub. She showed me before and after photos that were honestly shocking. Now I add a 5 minute scalp massage to every color service and my clients keep asking what I changed. Has anyone else seen better results from adding scalp care to their routine?

My cousin started massaging her grandma's scalp and she grew back hair in bald spots.

Tbh if scalp massages cure baldness, I'm about to give my head a workout that would shame a professional boxer.

it's just not gonna work like that for most people though. there's a big difference between a grandma with some thinning spots and actual genetic male pattern baldness. the science on scalp massages is pretty weak, mostly just increased blood flow which doesn't do anything for the hormone-driven stuff. i've seen guys on forums try this for YEARS with zero results. if it was that easy every barber would be a millionaire.
