That $40 mixing bowl set I grabbed at a garage sale in Tulsa

Last month I picked up these heavy stainless bowls at a random garage sale near downtown, and they've been a game changer for mixing color without it splashing everywhere. The lip on them is way steeper than my usual plastic ones, so I'm not wiping down my station three times per client. Anyone else swear by random thrift finds for the salon, or am I just cheap?

Three garage sales in a row I found literally the same set of bowls, but one had a dent so bad it wobbled on the counter like a top. That one went straight to the trash. I get the hype, I really do, but my cheap plastic ones from the beauty supply store have lasted five years and never once splashed color on my favorite jeans. @brooke_murray probably watched that TikTok and ran out to buy ten bowls she doesn't need. I mean, if the lip works for you, great, but I'm not convinced a garage sale bowl is gonna make or break my whole hair color game. A steady hand and good product does way more than the bowl you pour it in.

Saw a TikTok about thrift bowls being better than salon brand ones, totally agree.
