That Wednesday where every toner pull from the bowl was perfect

Last month I had a Tuesday where I did four full highlight and tone sets back to back and every single one lifted even and processed exactly how I wanted. I even had a root smudge on a level 4 base that came out so seamless the client asked if I had been doing her hair for 10 years. Has anyone else had a day like that where everything just clicks and you feel like a magician?

Every single one lifted even" - see, that's the part I'm calling bull on. You're telling me you did four full highlights and tones back to back and not one single band or hot spot showed up? I've been doing this long enough to know that when you're rushing between clients and their toner is sitting on the bowl while you're mixing the next one, something always goes sideways. That level 4 root smudge you mentioned probably looked good under the salon lights but bet it washed out muddy after a week. I'm not saying you had a bad day, but come on, perfect everything sounds more like wishful thinking than reality.

I mean, "every single one lifted even" is where you lost me too. That's just not how hair works, especially not on a booked solid day. I don't care if you're the best in the business, the minute you're racing the clock and layering toners back to back, one of those bowls is gonna have some leftover residue or the timing gets off by a minute. And yeah, that level 4 root smudge under warm lights? It's a whole different story when they hit the sun or their kitchen sink. I'm not trying to be mean, but claiming a flawless perfect day every time feels more like a flex than the truth.

omg @shane_wilson i see you coming in hot, but honestly i had almost the exact same thing happen last spring. did a full platinum card and three partials in one day and i swear every bowl pulled perfectly. no banding, no spots, just smooth even lift every time. i had to double check i wasn't dreaming. sometimes the universe just hands you a win and we gotta celebrate it, you know?
