Tired of clients who book balayage then ask for a full foil halfway through
Had a woman in Peoria last week change her mind mid-application and get mad when I quoted her the price difference. Anyone else dealing with people who don't understand what they booked for?

Full devil's advocate here - maybe she saw it taking shape and genuinely thought a full foil would look better with her skin tone or wardrobe. People change their minds, it happens. A lot of stylists build in flexibility for minor shifts during a service, the price difference should have been explained upfront at booking not sprung on her mid-way. Tacking on extra charges in the middle of a service is a quick way to lose a client who might have come back regularly if you'd just rolled with it.

I get what you're saying about flexibility, but I push back on "rolling with it" when it's a pretty big price difference. A half foil vs full foil can be like $50-$100 apart, that's not a minor tweak you just absorb. If she wanted to switch mid-service, the stylist should absolutely stop and confirm the new price before moving forward. No one wants surprise charges, but assuming the stylist should eat that cost isn't fair either. Don't you think both sides should have a quick chat before the extra work starts?
