Tried a $12 paddle brush vs my $45 one - big difference in frizz control
I was at Target last Tuesday picking up some stuff and grabbed their cheap paddle brush on a whim. Used it on a client with super fine hair and the frizz was out of control like half way through the blowout. Switched back to my ol faithful Wet Brush Pro and it smoothed everything down no problem. That cheap one just couldn't grip the hair right at the roots no matter how I angled it. Anyone else notice a huge gap between budget brushes and mid range ones or is it just me?

Have you noticed the bristle spacing makes a bigger difference than people give it credit for? In my experience, the cheap brushes always seem to have bristles that are too far apart or too soft to really grab those baby hairs by the scalp. My Wet Brush Pro has the bristles packed tighter and they're stiffer but still flexible, which seems to do the trick for taming flyaways on the crown without tugging. Might be worth checking the bristle density next time you're comparing brushes, it's been a game changer for me personally though your mileage may vary.

Has anyone else ever spent way too much money just to realize their own hair is the real problem? I bought a cheap brush once thinking I was saving money, then my hair looked like I'd been electrocuted. Tbh I think my $45 brush just knows me better at this point. The cheap one made me look like a mad scientist's failed experiment.
