I finally ditched my coworking membership after a nightmare week

My coworking space in Denver charged me $350 for a month and then the AC died during a heatwave last July. Three days in a row I showed up and it was 88 degrees inside with no fix in sight. I asked the manager for a refund and they said no because of their "no exceptions" policy. I packed up my laptop that Friday and went back to my kitchen table. Has anyone else had a coworking space fail on basics like this?

Did they at least give you a free fan or something? lmao. "No exceptions" but also no AC feels like a pretty big exception to basic business.

Five years ago I would've said "rules are rules" without a second thought, honestly. But last summer I spent four hours in a store near Phoenix where the register area was literally 85 degrees, and the manager kept apologizing saying corporate wouldn't let them install window units. I walked out without buying anything, and that's when it clicked for me (kind of a slow learner, I guess). Seeing customers sweating through their shirts while the company saves a few bucks on electricity just feels wrong now. Sometimes you need to experience the dumb rule yourself to realize how broken it really is.
