I thought paying $200 a month for a coworking desk in Seattle was a rip off until I met a guy who fixed my laptop for free
I was sure it was just a fancy way to rent a table, but then a guy named Raj soldered my broken charging port in 10 minutes and saved me $300. Has anyone else had a random coworker just fix something for you out of nowhere?

So you're telling me the $200 a month was basically a cover charge to get into a secret repair shop run by a guy named Raj? That's honestly a better return on your money than most things in Seattle. My coworking spot just has a guy who microwaves fish at 11am and a woman who takes calls on speaker in the quiet room. Raj is out here doing free soldering like some kind of laptop wizard and you almost missed it because you were busy being cheap. Next you're gonna tell me someone there does taxes for beer.

That fish microwave guy is a war crime and I'm glad my building doesn't have one. But yeah, Raj is real and he fixed a dead charging port on my old ThinkPad for the price of a burrito I bought him from the taco truck down the street. The catch is you have to catch him on a Tuesday or Thursday because the other days he's at his actual job doing something with servers I still don't understand. The taxes for beer thing is not as crazy as it sounds because there's a retired CPA who comes in on Fridays and I'm pretty sure he'd do my 1040 for a six pack of something hoppy. You're right though, I spent three months avoiding the place to save $200 and ended up paying $150 just to get my screen replaced at a chain store. Being cheap is expensive, that's the whole lesson here.
