My coworking space meetup group fell apart last month after the organizer moved away

We had a solid group of like 15 freelancers meeting every Thursday at a spot in Austin, then the guy who ran it just up and left for Denver. Now nobody's stepped up to take over and the Slack channel's been dead for 3 weeks. Anyone else lose their local group and have to start from scratch?

Dude SAME. Tried to restart ours twice and it just fizzled. Brutal.

My old D&D group fell apart after one guy moved overseas and nobody wanted to be the one to schedule things. Tried to get a new game going three times and each attempt ended with people ghosting after the first session. Sometimes you don't realize how much the routine matters until it's just gone.
