Question about the weird vibe at the coworking space by the train station
I stopped into that new coworking spot near Union Station last Thursday (you know, the one with the exposed brick) and I swear everyone was whispering - like, dead silent except for some intense keyboard clacking. Has anyone else noticed if that place has an unspoken rule about talking, or did I just catch it on a weird day?

Sounds like a library cosplaying as a hipster cafe.

Yeah the whole "library cosplaying as a hipster cafe" thing really got me thinking. My local coffee shop tried to do this exact thing last year where they put out all these vintage books and old typewriters for decoration. Turns out nobody actually wanted to sit there and read they just wanted to take photos for Instagram. The owner got so frustrated when people started stealing the books he had to chain them to the shelves like in a real library. Now it's just a regular cafe again with normal chairs and nobody takes the books seriously anymore.

Pretty sure that quiet vibe is exactly what a lot of freelancers want when they're trying to hammer out a project. Some people pay for coworking spaces specifically because they don't want the noise and chit-chat of a regular cafe. If you're looking for a place to network and talk, maybe stick to the coffee shop down the street where people actually hang out.
