Shoutout to the meetup organizer who said find a space with natural light
I was skeptical when that guy at the Denver freelancer meetup told me to pick a coworking spot with big windows. Three months later at that dark basement space and my mood was tanking, switched to a place with south facing windows and my productivity jumped way up. Anyone else notice a huge difference based on their workspace setup?

The light thing is real but I found out the hard way that too much direct sun can be a problem too. Last summer I was working at a spot with floor to ceiling windows and by 2pm every day my laptop screen was just a mirror. Had to rig up a cardboard shade like some kind of caveman. Ended up switching to a north-facing spot with consistent soft light and that was the sweet spot for me. Still bright enough to keep me awake but no glare issues at all.

Did you try turning your laptop upside down to fix the glare, @henry_anderson54? Sounds like that cardboard shade was the real high-tech solution.

Taped a paper towel roll to the side of my monitor once, worked better than anything I could buy.
