Used to haul my laptop to a Starbucks every morning at 7 AM before I found a proper coworking spot

Back then I'd spend $6 on a latte just to use their wifi and hope for a free outlet near a table, but now I pay $150 a month for a desk with actual power strips and people who don't stare when I take a work call. Has anyone else made that switch and felt dumb for not doing it sooner?

Haha oh man @caseywalker with the library hack is out here LIVING in 3024 while the rest of us were fighting over outlets like it was Black Friday. I switched to a coworking spot last year and honestly I just miss the free refills and judging other people's book choices.

$6 on a latte just to use their wifi" - man that part hit me different. I actually kind of miss that ritual. There's something about the background noise and having to be intentional with your time that got me more done than any quiet desk ever did. But yeah the outlet hunt is definitely a pain.

Yeah @finleym37 you're so right, that coffee shop hustle had a weird cozy vibe to it.

Oh man, I feel this so much. The trick that finally worked for me was finding a library that had private study rooms you can reserve for free. I'd book one for two hours, use their guest wifi (which is usually pretty solid), and just bring a thermos of coffee from home. Huge upgrade, zero guilt about buying overpriced lattes and way less stress about outlets and noise levels.
