Vent: my old coworking spot in Denver charged me $12 just to print one page
So I was at this shared space on Larimer Street in Denver last week and I needed to print one single page of a lease doc. They hit me with a $12 charge because it wasn't part of my plan, which felt insane for one sheet of paper. I ended up walking two blocks to a FedEx instead and paid like 15 cents, and it made me realize how much these spots nickel and dime you on the small stuff. I still go there for the coffee and the people, but now I keep a cheap home printer for anything under 20 pages. Anyone else find a hidden fee at their spot that just rubbed them the wrong way?
Yikes, that's rough, but honestly not shocking. I've run into the same thing at two different spots, once for scanning and once for a "guest access" day pass I didn't even know I needed. My trick now is to ask for the full fee sheet before I sign anything, and I mean the actual printed list, not the happy hour tour version. If they won't hand it over, that tells you plenty. Keeping a cheap printer at home is the move for sure, and for big jobs I just batch them at the library on my way home.
