A rigger in Mobile said 'trust your bubble, not your eyes' after I nearly overcorrected a 120-foot lift in a crosswind.
I was fighting a gust last Tuesday and started chasing the load with the joystick until he radioed that phrase, which made me stop and actually watch the level instead of the sway, saving what could have been a serious swing into the structure.

I always trusted my eyes more, but that exact phrase saved me last month too.

Trusting your eyes is good, but sometimes the phrase itself is what you need, right?

Yeah, it's wild how a simple line can stick with you. @fionanguyen, your post made me remember this dumb quote from an old cookbook my grandma had, something like "taste before you trust the timer." Burnt a lot less chicken since then, lmao.

Wait, did you actually find that quote in an old cookbook or was it just something your grandma said? Curious if it’s a real saying or just family wisdom.
