City noise laws forcing changes to our crane idling habits

New rules in my area slash allowed engine noise. We have to shut down more often during long lifts. Looking into battery packs for aux power. What are you guys doing to adapt?

Just when we got good at the idle hum, now it's all about battery packs. Progress is someone deciding your crane is too loud.

Wait, the hum was a heartbeat.

Remember my friend thinking their generator had a weird, pulsing flaw.

Hold up, wait a minute! A heartbeat? That’s actually kind of wild and a little creepy. We spent all that time getting used to a steady noise, and it turns out it was something alive the whole time. No wonder the sound felt off if it was pulsing like that. Now they want to swap that for silent battery packs, which just feels wrong after learning this.
