Had a close call with a 150-ton lift at the new hospital site in Spokane

We were setting a big HVAC unit on the roof, and I had the load chart for my Liebherr LTM 1100-4.2 open. The wind picked up to about 15 mph, which was still in the green, but the load started swinging more than I liked. I learned to trust my gut over the paper chart when conditions feel off, even if the numbers say it's okay. Has anyone else had a moment where the chart didn't tell the whole story?

Yeah, that wind can make a chart lie real quick. Keith164 has a point about the built-in margins, but margins don't mean much when a load gets its own mind swinging. Always better to set it down safe and wait it out than push a green number. Your gut is part of the gear list for a reason.

Charts are built with safety margins for a reason. Sometimes the gut feeling is just nerves from the conditions.

Wade_dixon is right about that gut gear being essential.
