Old timer at the union hall told me my rigging was too complicated
I was on a job in Portland last summer picking steel beams for a 5 story apartment building. This guy named Mike, been operating for like 40 years, watched me set up a basket hitch with two chokers and a spreader bar. He just said 'son you're overthinking it, use a single bridle and be done.' I switched to a 4-leg bridle and saved like 20 minutes per pick. Has anyone else gotten feedback from the old heads that simplified their whole approach?

Did you try tying a butterfly knot between the straps to stop the load from spinning?

Heard a rigger on a podcast swear by using a half hitch first.
