Picked the lattice boom over a hydraulic crawler for a tight downtown job last week
Had to wedge a 50 ton between two buildings in Portland and went with the old lattice boom because it could reach over a parked building supply truck. Took longer to assemble but zero swing radius issues, would you guys have made the same call?

Made the same call on a Seattle high rise job back in 2018 and it saved us two days of rerouting traffic.

My buddy on a job in Portland last year tried the same shortcut and it backfired because the city had changed the permit rules without telling anyone. @parker_webb you got lucky with Seattle, but I always check the local regs now before I make that move. Your mileage may vary, but that 2018 call would've been a headache in my neck of the woods.

Yeah I ran into pretty much the same thing in Portland a few years back on a tight street job. Wedged the boom between two buildings and it worked out fine, just had to double check the permit stuff first. Would have been a pain if I'd skipped that step though.
