Spent 45 minutes trying to get my crawler crane to start before realizing the kill switch was still on
I was out on a job in Milwaukee last Tuesday, kept cranking the engine and nothing, ripped apart the fuel lines and everything... then my apprentice just reaches over and flips the switch. Has anyone else had a moment where you overlook the absolute simplest thing?

My buddy Pete spent an hour changing spark plugs once before seeing the battery was dead.

Nah, spark plugs wouldn't hurt anyway, battery or not he got something done at least.

My dad once spent 20 minutes trying to jump-start a lawnmower before realizing he forgot to flip the fuel valve. Made me feel better about my own dumb moments at least.

Had a moment where you overlook the absolute simplest thing" - yeah, I think we've all been there. That's like the mechanic version of looking for your phone while holding it in your hand. Bet your apprentice felt like a genius for the rest of the week.
