Swapped out my worn out swing cable for a braided one six months back and now I don't have to replace it every three lifts
The old wire rope would fray after a few heavy picks on a bridge job in Columbus, but the braided cable holds up way better against the drum wear, anyone else made that switch yet?

Nah, actual standard cables usually hold up way better than that unless something's grinding on it.

Wait, three lifts? I had no idea the standard cable was that bad, I always assumed it would last a whole season at least.

Oh man, three lifts is rough! I think you might be mixing up cable wear with something else though. @the_cameron, the standard cable isn't actually supposed to last a full season, that's way too optimistic. Most people I know get maybe 5 or 6 good sessions out of one before the tension starts dropping off and it gets that annoying kink in it. The REAL issue is that three lifts is EXTREMELY short, like either you got a dud cable or the park's setup is putting way too much strain on it. I've seen some lifts just chew through cables if they're not maintained right. Don't feel bad for assuming, most folks figure a cable should hold up way longer than it actually does.
