Switched from hand signals to radios on a blind pick in Tacoma last week and I'm not going back
Had to lift a 4,800 lb steel beam behind a warehouse where the spotter couldn't see me, so I grabbed the two-way radios instead of trusting hand signals through a window. Anyone else find radios kill the guesswork on blind picks, or do you stick with hand signals no matter what?

Radios with a good earpiece saved my ass more than once, learned that from an old timer who ran cranes for 30 years. Hand signals are fine til someone steps out of sight line, then you're just guessing.
