The job that made me start checking the weather twice

I was on a site in downtown Portland back in 2019 running a 200 ton crawler. A sudden gust came through the canyon between buildings and my load started swinging bad, nothing I hadn't handled before but the operator next to me had his tagline break. Have you guys changed how you prep for tight urban spots with weird wind patterns?

I had a similar thing happen near the Burnside bridge and it spooked me good.

Man, anything near the Burnside bridge at night is just asking for trouble. I once walked under it to get to a bus stop and convinced myself a raccoon was a dude with a knife. It was just a raccoon, but my heart about punched its way out of my chest.

Had the exact same feeling @gracej99, you're not kidding - it's like that whole area just has this weird energy. I was walking back from a late show at the Crystal Ballroom one time and had to cut under the bridge to get to the Max. Heard this weird scraping sound and froze up, thinking someone was following me. Turned out it was just a homeless guy dragging a shopping cart full of cans, but my brain went straight to the worst possible place. The way the streetlights hit the concrete and create all those shadows down there, it's like a horror movie set. Ever since then I just take the long way around, even if it adds fifteen minutes to my walk.
