TIL that simulator training misses key parts of real crane work.
You can't learn site chaos from a perfect digital model.

Isn't that true for every clean version of a messy job?

Exactly! It's like how reading a recipe never tells you how hot your own stove really gets.

Used to think simulators were basically the real thing until I talked to a guy who runs cranes. He said the digital version never shows you how wind actually feels on the load, or how to handle someone yelling directions over radio static. Maybe it's good for the very basics, but idk, seems like it misses the messy stuff that really matters.

My cousin trained on a flight simulator for months. He told me, like @morganh44 said, that the real thing has engine rumble and panic you can't fake. Guess some jobs just need the messy practice, lol.
