Two-second rule on the load chart saved my ass in Fort Worth
Last month a ground guy yelled up at me to just lift and move, said the math was close enough. I was about to swing a 14,000 pound HVAC unit over a finished lobby. He kept pushing, so I stopped and ran the numbers again, that extra two seconds caught a rigging misprint from the office. I changed my habit to always re-read the chart right before the lift, no matter who's rushing me. Has anyone else had a spotter or foreman talk you out of a safe check and you wish you'd held your ground?

Funny how rushing always happens right before the mistake.

@xena_hernandez98 nailed it, rushing is just fear in a hard hat and it never pays off. Same thing happens at grocery stores when people cut lines to save two minutes, then drop their eggs.
