Vent: My brother's crane advice at family gatherings is getting old
I just want to enjoy my burger without a job site review.

Read an article about "family advice fatigue" once. You get that at your place too? Just makes the whole meal feel like a chore.

Man does that hit home lol. You mean like when @thea425 your uncle asks for the third time when you're getting a "real job" or your mom gives tips on your love life while passing the potatoes? It's like every bite comes with a side of judgment. Makes me want to hide in the bathroom until dessert is served. Totally turns a nice dinner into something you just have to get through.

Well, I mean, I get the fatigue thing, but idk if it's always a straight-up chore. Maybe it's just me, but when my mom lectures on budgeting, it's because she freaks out about bills, not to annoy me. Or my uncle with his endless cooking tips, it's his way of feeling useful, I guess. Sure, I zone out sometimes, but it comes from a weird place of love. Makes tuning it out a little less miserable, at least.

My dad's tech advice is to turn it off and on again. I pretend to listen while planning my escape to the pie.
