Hit 500 words on a writing prompt and it flopped harder than I expected

I sat down with that prompt about a lighthouse keeper finding a message in a bottle from himself, 50 years in the future, and I cranked out 500 words in one go... thought it was solid. Posted it and got like 3 upvotes and one guy saying it was too 'on the nose' with the time travel stuff. Maybe I'm missing something, or is it just a crapshoot what catches fire around here?

Did you write it fast and hope it'd just work cause I did the same thing last week and got crickets too?

Did you used to think fast writing was the way to go, because I sure did until I bombed hard.

Oh man, I tried the SPEED DEMON approach for a blog post about fixing leaky faucets and it read like I was having a stroke. I typed the whole thing in like 20 minutes flat, hit publish, and then realized I'd written "turn the water off at the main line" like six times in a row. It was like my brain just glitched out and kept repeating the same dumb sentence. I deleted that disaster so fast, I almost broke my mouse. Now I force myself to actually read each paragraph out loud before I post anything.
