Hot take: those 3am "write a prompt before coffee" sprints actually worked for me
I rolled my eyes at the idea of setting a timer for 10 minutes and just writing a prompt with no thinking. Felt like a gimmick. But I tried it for 12 days straight in my kitchen in Toledo, one prompt each morning before work, and by day 8 I had a sci-fi premise I actually finished as a short story. The no-thinking part is what did it. My usual habit was editing the prompt before I even wrote it. Anyone else try timed prompt sprints, and how long do you set the clock for?
Tried setting mine to 5 minutes instead of 10 and it still worked, honestly the shorter clock made me stop second guessing even faster. Just dump words until the timer beeps, then go back and clean it up later if it's worth it.
