Showerthought: I keep seeing the same prompt about a 'chosen one' who refuses the call

Every other prompt I read in these threads is about a hero who doesn't want to be a hero. It's a cool idea, but it's everywhere (I counted seven in the last two days). The problem is it skips the hard part, you know, the actual story. It's just a setup. What makes a good prompt is the twist after that, like 'what if the prophecy was actually a job posting with terrible benefits?' Has anyone built a full story from one of these, or do they usually just fizzle out?

Ever think the refusal is the whole point? I used to want more plot too, but maybe the fun is just in the idea itself.
