That moment you realize your fantasy map has a river that makes no sense

I spent 3 hours on a river system last week and then noticed that all my rivers split instead of merging, which is basically geographic nonsense. Has anyone else caught a map error that ruined your whole mood after you were already proud of it?

Three years ago I mapped out a whole continent and then realized my largest lake had two rivers flowing out of it to different oceans. Had to scrap the entire western half of the landmass because the elevation just fell apart. That hollow feeling when you zoom out and see the problem for the first time is brutal.

Three years of work? Dude, I would have just stared at the screen for an hour and then closed the laptop without saving anything. That's the kind of map mistake that makes you question every single river you've ever drawn (and honestly, probably a few of your life choices too).

Oh man, I feel this so hard! @wells.evan been there with the lake thing, it's like your brain just blanks out on basic geography for a second. I once spent a whole weekend hand-drawing a mountain range only to realize I'd accidentally made a river flow uphill through a valley I drew wrong. I sat there for like ten minutes just staring at the screen, thinking about all the time I wasted and if I even know what a river does anymore. Makes you wonder how many other little mistakes are hiding in the rest of the map, you know? It's almost worse than losing the file entirely because you can't unsee it.
