Vent: hit 1,000 words in a single writing session for the first time in months and it felt weirdly emotional

I sat down at my desk after dinner Tuesday with zero expectations, just trying to get a scene down for a fantasy prompt about a librarian who finds a talking map, and somehow the words just kept coming until I hit 1,000 without stopping, which hasn't happened since I was in that college workshop three years ago where my professor said I overwrote everything, has anyone else had a random one-off writing session that totally threw you off guard?

A friend cried for ten minutes over 500 words? That's... a lot. Like, I get being proud but that sounds more like a breakdown than a breakthrough.

Honestly, that feeling when you finally break through a wall is wild. Breaking it into tiny chunks like 100 words at a time helped me stop staring at the blank page. Tbh, sometimes just writing garbage and fixing it later is the trick.
