Appreciation post: my credit union's free 20 minute sit down with a real person
For years I did all my credit stuff alone on an app, staring at scores and guessing what to fix. Two months ago I walked into a branch near my house in Charlotte and a woman named Dana sat with me for 20 minutes and printed out my actual report line by line. She pointed at a $340 medical bill from 2022 that I never knew was sitting on there, and we filed the dispute together at her desk. My score went up 41 points in 6 weeks, and honestly the free part still surprises me. Has anyone else had better luck working with a person instead of an app, or did I just get lucky with Dana?
