Can we talk about how a gym membership freeze affected my credit?
I got a knee injury and had to freeze my gym account for three months. The company still charged me and it went to collections, which is NOW on my credit report. My score dropped 30 points and I'm stuck. What's the best way to dispute this or get it removed?

Hey, going straight to the credit bureaus might not be the fastest fix. You should bug the collections agency directly with your proof, since they can sometimes wipe the debt if you show it's wrong. After that, if they don't help, then you can dispute it with the bureaus.

Dispute the charge with the credit bureaus immediately. Pull together all your proof, like the email where you requested the freeze and any bank statements from those three months. Send a formal dispute letter to Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion detailing how the gym charged you in error. Don't forget to hassle the collections company too, a strong complaint can sometimes get them to wipe the debt.
