DAE get nervous about credit repair mailers? One actually worked out for me
Got a letter in February from a company saying they could wipe a bogus collection off my report, and I tossed it because it looked like a scam. My score was stuck at 618 so I called them anyway, mostly to prove it was garbage. They sent me my own credit report back with the collections account circled, said to dispute it in writing myself, and didn't charge a dime. The collection came off 41 days later and my score jumped to 674, so I'm a believer now. Has anyone else had a company tell them to do it on their own instead of paying for help?
