Spent 5 weeks fixing a wrong address on my credit report, and the fix wasn't what I expected
Honestly, I thought disputing a wrong address on my credit report would be a quick online form. The address was an old apartment in Columbus I moved out of in 2019, but it kept showing up as my current address on one bureau. I filed an online dispute, waited 30 days, and it came back verified. I tried again, called the bureau, and got told to contact the creditor. After 5 weeks and a lot of hold music, I finally figured out the issue was the postal service's change of address had linked my old address to my new one in some database. I had to send a handwritten letter with a copy of my lease to get it removed. Has anyone else had a simple credit fix turn into a whole project?
