That one Tuesday where my credit score jumped 30 points
Honestly, I was just checking my score on Credit Karma like I do every few weeks and saw it went from 680 to 710 out of nowhere. I had paid off a $2,000 collection from a medical bill about 3 months ago, but I thought it would take way longer to see a change. Turns out paying off old debts can hit your score faster if the creditor actually reports the zero balance. Has anyone else seen a big jump like that from one payment disappearing?

Went from 620 to 650 after paying a $47 library fine from 2016.

Read somewhere that even small stuff like old library fines can trigger a score jump because credit bureaus are weird about minor collections falling off. Pretty wild how a tiny bill from years ago can weigh down your credit like that. Good reminder to check for any random old debts even if they seem dumb.
