A guy at the coffee shop told me his email got hacked because of a quiz

I was grabbing coffee in Portland last week and this older guy next to me was really upset. He said he clicked on one of those 'Which Marvel hero are you?' quizzes on Facebook and used his main email to sign up. Two days later, his email was taken over and someone tried to buy stuff with his saved card. Honestly, it made me think about how easy it is to give away info without knowing. Has anyone else seen a friend get tricked by something that seemed harmless like a quiz?

Oh man, lisas78, that's the worst feeling. I had a charge once for a streaming service I canceled, and the credit card company made me jump through hoops for weeks. They wanted a letter from the company, my bank statements, the whole deal. It felt like they just hoped I'd give up. Did your friend have to fight them for it too?
