I was wrong about password managers being too much hassle

For years I thought remembering my own passwords was fine, even after my old email got hacked in 2020. I finally tried a free one last month after my brother kept bugging me. Setting it up took maybe 20 minutes, and now I have a different strong password for every site without trying to remember them. The best part is it auto-fills on my phone, so I'm not typing long passwords anymore. Has anyone else switched recently and found a feature they really like?

Yeah the auto-fill is a game changer. I used to avoid logging into stuff on my phone because typing those crazy passwords was such a pain. Now it just pops up. My only gripe is when a website has a weird login page and the manager doesn't catch it. Happens on my bank's site sometimes.

Ugh, tell me about it, @the_rose. I just copy-paste from my notes app when that happens.

Of course the bank's site is the one that breaks it.

Used to think password managers were overkill honestly. Thought why bother when I can just remember a few passwords or use the same one with a number at the end. But then my bank account got hit with a fraud alert because someone guessed my weak password. That woke me up real fast. Switched to a manager a year ago and it just works. I don't even think about passwords anymore. Your bank being the one that breaks the auto-fill makes total sense too, they always have some janky login form that doesn't play nice with anything.
