My home network got hit with a brute force attack last Tuesday

I was just checking my router logs around 10 PM and saw over 2,000 failed login attempts from an IP in Vietnam. The attack went on for about four hours straight. I had to change my admin password from the default and set up a rule to block that IP range. It was a long night, but it showed me how important those basic router settings are. Has anyone else had to deal with something like this recently?

Ugh, my default password is still "password".

Seriously, you haven't changed that yet? What's the actual hold up, is it just the hassle of remembering a new one or something else? That's like leaving your front door wide open with a sign on it.

So is it just "password" or like a variant with numbers?

Ever check if your router's time zone is set right?
