Picked a password manager over sticky notes and my own mom locked me out of the family Netflix
So about 3 weeks ago I finally set up a password manager for my parents since my dad kept a notebook of logins next to the router in their Boise house. My mom forgot the master password on day 2 and got locked out of Netflix, Hulu, and her email all at once, and I had to drive over there to reset it. Setting up 2FA on her phone took me 40 minutes because she kept tapping the wrong button. Does anyone have a good trick for explaining this stuff to older family without them wanting to throw the router in the trash?

Did you also make the huge mistake of letting her pick the master password herself? My dad wrote his on a sticky note and stuck it to the laptop, which pretty much defeated the whole point.
