Pro tip: that $40 key fob jammer detector just saved my whole car setup
Honestly, I never thought about relay attacks until last month when my neighbor's keyless entry car got stolen right out of their driveway in Austin. The thief used one of those cheap relay boxes to boost the signal from inside the house. I tried parking in the garage, wrapping my fob in foil, all that stuff, but it felt clunky. Then I found this little detector that plugs into my OBD port and alerts me if it senses any relay jammer activity nearby. I tested it last week by borrowing my buddy's jammer and it went off within 2 seconds. It's not perfect for every car but it gave me peace of mind for less than what a tank of gas costs now. Has anyone else dealt with keyless car theft in their area, and what are you using besides a faraday pouch?
