That time I clicked a phishing link by accident on my work computer

I was checking my email at the clinic around 2 PM last Tuesday and got a message that looked exactly like our software update notice from Dentrix. I clicked the link without thinking and it took me to a page asking for my login credentials. That's when I realized the URL was off by one letter and I had to call IT immediately. Has anyone else fallen for one of these fake update emails that look scarily real?

Watched my grandma almost do the same thing last week with an email that looked like her bank's security alert. It's scary how these scams are getting good enough to fool anyone who's rushing through their day. You think they'd train us better at work, but they still catch you off guard when you're busy.

Oh man, that part about getting caught off guard when you're busy. That's exactly how it gets you. My aunt fell for one of those fake Amazon account alerts last month. She was cooking dinner and trying to check her email at the same time, clicked the link and entered her credit card info before she even realized what happened. It's wild how they time those things for when you're distracted.

Oh please, a little common sense goes a long way. If you're so busy you can't pause for two seconds to check if an email is legit, that's on you. I get distracted cooking dinner sometimes too, but I don't hand my credit card out to every email that pops up.
