Client asked me to redo a logo 4 times and finally admitted the first version was fine

After the third round of tweaks I was ready to quit, but she said "actually the first one works" and now I always send a draft first before diving into revisions. Has anyone else had a client circle back to the original after making you chase your tail?

Have you ever had that moment where you're so deep in revisions you can't see straight anymore? I used to think more rounds meant better results, but honestly, this post made me realize sometimes your gut instinct was right the whole time.

Whoa hold on, I gotta push back a little on this one lol. I've seen way too many projects where that first gut instinct was actually just a bad idea that looked good at 2am. My buddy spent 6 months on a logo for a brewery and his first sketch was a total mess, but after 4 rounds of brutal feedback it became something the client actually loved. Sometimes you need those extra rounds to kill the bad ideas and find the good ones hiding underneath.

My buddy Mike went through this with a wedding band logo. He did seven rounds of changes and the client ended up going with the very first sketch he drew on a napkin at a bar. Now he sends three options max and tells them to pick one before any tweaks happen.
