Client just moved my deadline from Friday to Tuesday morning at 7am
Had a gig with a small marketing firm in Nashville last week. They said the project was due Friday, so I planned my whole week around that. Then yesterday, the project manager emails me at 6pm saying the client wants it Tuesday at 7am for a presentation. I spent all night rewriting copy and now my neck is killing me from sitting in my truck with my laptop on the dash. Anyone else have clients who think we just sit around waiting for their emergencies?

Happens all the time and it gets old fast. Seems like everywhere you look, people treat your time like a backup they can dip into whenever their planning falls apart. It's just the way things work now, everyone assumes you're sitting there waiting on them.

Did you at least get a premium parking spot out of that neck pain, or just a crick and a half-burnt coffee? I swear my chiropractor earned his boat payment off my truck-dash laptop setup alone.

I kind of get where you're coming from, but I actually don't mind the wait so much. Gives me a solid excuse to sit in my truck and zone out for a few minutes before another call.
