Saw a freelancer at the WeWork lounge use a timer for every task, now I'm copying it

Watched someone split a 4-hour revision into 25-minute sprints with a $12 kitchen timer and it somehow made the panic disappear, anyone else tried time-boxing after a client pushes a deadline up by a week?

Kitchen timer sounds more reliable than my watch, which I've learned to ignore when it tells me I've been "working" on the same email for an hour. Mine broke after day two when I smacked it for dinging during a client call. But honestly, the panic just moved to the two minute warning before the timer goes off. That's when the real work happens.
