Serious question, I thought charging a rush fee was a scam until a client moved a deadline up by 4 days
I added a 30% rush fee just to protect myself and he paid it in 10 minutes without a word, so now I put it on every contract. Does anyone else use a rush fee, or is it just a good way to lose work?
My buddy does wedding photos and started adding a rush fee after a bride begged him to turn around an album in half the normal time, and she didn't even blink at the extra cost. Turns out the people who need it fast usually have a real reason and the money to back it up, so they just pay. The ones who complain about it were probably never your best clients anyway.
