The UPS guy rang at 6:47pm and my whole system fell apart
I used to have this whole ritual, 2 hours of buffer time before any deadline, back when clients actually gave you a heads up. Then this Tuesday I got a same day delivery notice while I was mid render in Toledo, so the buffer turned into a trash fire of missed emails and a half baked file. Anyone else feel like the panic hits harder when the surprise comes from shipping instead of the project itself?
Does a surprise delivery really matter if your work was done ahead of time? I mean, if the buffer is 2 hours, a 6:47pm ring just moves the deadline to 8:47pm and you still got the whole evening. The panic sounds less about the shipping and more about not actually having a spare minute in that buffer, so maybe the system was already on the edge before the doorbell even buzzed.
