TIL my "quick" revision process was making everything take twice as long
Had a client move a deadline up by three days last month and I panicked, started making tiny tweaks without saving the original. Realized halfway through that I'd been undoing a version that was actually fine, and I've been doing this dumb loop on every rush job for like two years now. Anybody else catch themselves making panic edits that just create more work?

@sean48 has a good point, but I bet most of us have done this at some point. The REAL trick is that panic editing makes you feel productive when you're actually just spinning your wheels. I've caught myself deleting three lines of copy just to retype the SAME thing in a slightly different order, and then wondering why I'm exhausted with nothing to show for it. The solution for me was forcing myself to step away for five minutes before touching anything on a rush job.
