Unpopular opinion: that $89 'quick invoicing' app cost me a client and a weekend
I want to warn people about this. Paid $89 for a year of an app that promised one click invoices with auto reminders. First invoice it sent had the wrong due date because it pulled the client's time zone wrong, so a $400 job looked 2 days late to them. Client in Denver emailed me asking why I was rushing them and pulled the next batch of work. I burned last Saturday rebuilding my own invoice sheet in a plain spreadsheet and it took 2 hours. The app's support replied 3 days later with a link to a help page. Anyone got a simple invoicing setup that just works and doesn't try to guess dates?
