Just realized the ADA says kids should see a dentist by their first tooth, not their third birthday
I always figured you wait until a kid has a full set of chompers before booking anything, but the ADA page on their site says first tooth or first birthday, whichever comes first. My sister in law works at a pediatric office in Columbus and she confirmed they see 1 year olds all the time, mostly to check for bottle rot and show parents how to brush. I pulled up the same page for a neighbor who was waiting on her 2 year old and she was kind of shocked. Does your area actually have offices that take kids that young, or do most turn them away?
