My dentist said I have 3 cavities last Monday, second guy said 1, third said none
Spent $340 on three visits in Tampa in one week and got three totally different maps of my own mouth. Has anyone else gotten wildly different cavity counts from different dentists, or did I just get unlucky?

Did all three dentists actually poke around and take X-rays, or did the last two just glance at your teeth? In my experience a real exam with bitewing X-rays is what catches small cavities, and a quick look with that little mirror misses stuff, especially between teeth. A dentist saying "none" without fresh X-rays wouldn't give me much comfort, honestly. Your mileage may vary, but I'd trust the guy who actually took images over the one who did a fast visual check.
