That rural clinic in Ohio had me missing my old handpiece
I drove down to Chillicothe last month to help a buddy cover his practice for a week. He still uses a pneumatic handpiece, and honestly, I forgot how much feedback you get from the vibration and sound. My electric one is quieter and faster, but I felt like I lost the 'feel' for when a filling is seating just right. Has anyone else switched back and forth and noticed that? Curious if it's just nostalgia or if the old tools really do tell you more.

Honestly I used to roll my eyes at the whole "you can feel more with air" thing, figured it was just old guys being nostalgic. But then I borrowed a buddy's old unit for a week and yeah, you really do pick up on stuff you don't get with electric. I didn't expect to miss that raw feedback as much as I did.

Man, "raw feedback" is the perfect way to put it. I had the same eye roll reaction for years until I tried my uncle's old rig, and it totally changed my mind. It's like you can feel every little bump and texture in the road, stuff you just don't get with electric. Feels weird to say, but it's almost like the car talks to you more, and you just know what it's gonna do before it does it. I get why people miss that feeling now, it's not just nostalgia, it's a real difference.
